Every other coating is designed to lose performance. This one isn't.
Conventional antifouling ablates — it sacrifices the coating to function. Sea-Speed V 10 X Ultra is a hard-film Silane-Siloxane system that maintains sub-20µ Rz surface roughness across the full 10-year service life. Lloyd's Register certified.
CII compliance built into the coating
CII improvement verified in year one
Sea-Speed V 10 X Ultra has delivered Carbon Intensity Indicator improvements of up to 17% in year one on commercial vessel operations. Sub-20µ Rz surface roughness and sustained hull cleanliness through underwater grooming reduces friction resistance directly — without operational changes or speed reduction.
The IMO CII framework rates vessels A–E annually. A single rating improvement means the difference between unrestricted trading and port state intervention. Sea-Speed delivers that improvement without retrofits, operational constraints, or additional capital spend.
What the industry has accepted as normal — and why it's wrong
"Hull performance always degrades between drydocks."
Reality: A non-depleting hard film maintains sub-20µ Rz across the full service cycle. Performance is a design parameter, not a decay curve.
"You need biocides to prevent fouling."
Reality: Sea-Speed V 10 X Ultra uses surface energy physics — fouling cannot bond to the Silane-Siloxane matrix. Zero biocides, zero regulatory exposure.
"Underwater grooming damages the coating."
Reality: >1,000 cleaning cycles certified without film loss. Grooming-compatible by design — hull cleanliness maintained continuously between drydocks.
Three performance pillars — designed to last a decade
Hard-Film Silane-Siloxane Matrix
Unlike ablative coatings that sacrifice film to function, Sea-Speed V 10 X Ultra uses a cross-linked Silane-Siloxane polymer matrix that hardens on immersion. The result is a surface so low-energy that fouling cannot adhere — without releasing any biocide into the water column.
Sub-20µ Rz Surface Finish — Maintained
Applied to achieve sub-20 micron average Rz roughness. Critically, this is not a starting specification that degrades — the non-depleting film retains this roughness profile over the full 10-year service life. Friction resistance stays low from year one through year ten.
Underwater Grooming Compatible
Certified for over 1,000 underwater cleaning cycles without film loss. This allows proactive hull maintenance between drydocks — keeping the hull at peak hydrodynamic condition regardless of port sequence or trading pattern. Most coatings cannot tolerate this.
Verified results from commercial operations
"The hull roughness figures after 30 months in service were better than any coating we have used. The propulsion data confirmed the fuel consumption projections from the pre-application model."
"We were sceptical about the 10-year service life claim. After the first inspection at 30 months the coating condition was outstanding. We cancelled the mid-term drydock."
