See the Leak. Measure It. Report It On the Spot.
SepcoTech supplies the Hertzinno range of handheld acoustic imaging cameras. They turn escaping gas, partial discharge and failing bearings into a picture made of sound, so a crew can find the fault from a safe distance, put a number on it, and walk away with the report already written. Built for the hardest place to inspect: a working LNG or LPG carrier.

A gas leak, an arcing connection and a dry bearing share one trait: none of them shows on a walk-round until it is serious. Acoustic imaging surfaces all three.

See the leak, then put a number on it
Pressurised gas escaping through a flange, valve gland or seal makes ultrasound the ear cannot hear. The camera maps that sound onto the live image, so the source is obvious even across a deck. The HA3LX then adds a TDLAS laser that quantifies methane in ppm·m, and the software estimates the leak rate, annual cost and carbon mass, on screen, in the field.
- Detects leaks from as little as 0.0032 L/min at 2.5 m
- Laser methane sensing to 5 ppm·m, up to 30 m away
- ATEX intrinsically-safe for cargo decks & manifolds
The on-screen cost and CO₂ figures are indicative estimates the camera derives from user-set inputs (gas price, run-time and emission factor); they are not a guaranteed or independently verified figure.

Find arcing in the switchboard before it trips the ship
Partial discharge in high-voltage switchgear and cabling emits a faint ultrasonic signature long before it flashes over. The camera locates it from a safe distance and the on-device PRPD AI classifies the discharge type (corona, surface, floating or particle noise), so you know whether it is a watch item or a work order.
- AI classifies discharge type, not just presence
- Inspect energised equipment without opening panels
- Phase-resolved analysis for condition trending

Hear the bearing going, before it takes the machine with it
In a noisy engine room the camera isolates the one sound that has changed. Mechanical mode locates abnormal sources on pumps, compressors and gearboxes and reports condition parameters (kurtosis, crest factor, spectrum variance), so worn bearings, misalignment and poor lubrication are caught while they are still cheap to fix.
- Pinpoints the faulty component in a wall of noise
- Condition indicators for trend-based maintenance
- Cuts unplanned downtime and breakdown cost
Where It Earns Its Place Aboard a Gas Carrier
Three jobs, one handheld: from the cargo deck to the engine room to the switchboard. Each is an inspection a gas carrier already has to do.

Cargo Containment & Manifolds
Image the deck, dome seals, valves and the manifold for methane or LPG vapour escaping under pressure, quantify it, and log it, from outside the hazard, with an ATEX-safe camera.
HA3LX · HZ-HA-270P
Engine Room & Compressors
Locate the failing bearing, the leaking instrument-air line or the labouring compressor in a room full of noise, and trend its condition between port calls.
HA3 · HA3T · 171P / 271P
Switchboards & HV Systems
Scan energised switchgear and cable terminations for partial discharge, classify the type with PRPD AI, and add a thermal hot-spot check in the same pass, with the ATEX HA3TX for classified zones.
HA3TX (ATEX) · HA3T · HZ-HA-271PThe Camera, Working
Footage from Hertzinno: laser methane quantification with the HA3LX, and an acoustic gas-leak inspection on an oil & gas site.
More Array, Less Weight, More on the Screen
Hertzinno's third-generation HA3 series leads its class on the specifications that decide a real inspection: the channel count that sets sensitivity, the weight you carry all shift, and how much analysis happens on the device itself.

144-Channel Array
144 low-noise MEMS microphones, more channels than the cameras it is most often compared with, feeding AI beamforming for clean separation of dense sources.

ATEX & Rugged
HA3LX and the 170P / 270P carry ATEX intrinsic-safety certification (Ex ib IIC T4 Gb) and an IP54 rating, for classified zones and harsh decks.

On-Device Intelligence
One-click analysis, PRPD discharge typing, leak-rate and cost calculation, voice annotation and report export, all on the camera, with PC and cloud analysis to follow.
