Wall Thickness at Height, Measured From the Ground.
The CSpect ALTUM carries an ultrasonic probe to tank walls, silos, ship hulls and pipe racks up to ~18 m, with the A-scan read live on the controller. Four module options (UTM Ultra-Light, a grinder-equipped crawler, couplant-free EMAT and B-Scan) let one operator take remaining-wall-thickness readings where scaffolding, rope access or a drone permit would otherwise be needed.
Two Things Stand Between You and a Reading: Access and Surface.
Remaining-wall-thickness readings high on a tank, a silo, a hull or a pipe rack normally mean building access first, whether scaffolding, a MEWP or a rope team, and then preparing the surface, because rust, dirt and coating sit between the probe and clean steel. Both add cost, time and risk before a single measurement is taken.
The ALTUM solves both. The carbon pole brings the ultrasonic probe up to ~18 m while the operator stays on the ground, and the A-scan is read live on the controller. Where the surface needs cleaning, the grinder-equipped crawler grinds the spot first; where you cannot prepare the surface at all, the couplant-free EMAT module reads straight through paint and light corrosion.

UTM Module: Ultra-Light
The lightest way to take a reading where the surface is already clean, no grinder needed. It includes a 25 m cable to connect the probe to the UT flaw detector, a water dispenser with a hand-operated pump and couplant feeder, and a probe head for vertical plates and pipes. Probe DA301 5 MHz is included; an optional DA312 10 MHz probe (with plate and pipe holders) is available. The gauge itself is supplied separately.

UTM Module: with Grinder (Crawler)
Built for the vertical walls of steel and stainless steel, typically storage tanks, where the surface must be cleaned before a reading. The frame carries actuators and a couplant (gel) reservoir; an RC controller drives the system and shows the camera feed so you can check the measurement position, with a 500-lumen light for dark spaces and a 25 m cable. An integral grinder with disks for steel and stainless removes dirt and rust before the UT reading (a disk-change tool is included). It ships with 2 batteries and a charger, a set of magnetic wheels for steel and anti-slip wheels for non-magnetic surfaces, in a flight case. Compatible probes: DA301 5 MHz and Topcoat TC-560 (auto-velocity, works only with the DMSGO+ advanced gauge).

EMAT Module
Couplant-free electromagnetic-acoustic measurement, no gel and no water. Because it is contactless, it reads through paint, coatings and light corrosion with no surface preparation, and it can be deployed in hot or production environments. CSpect has used it for couplant-free readings on the elevated pipe racks at ArcelorMittal.

B-Scan Module
Where a single point is not enough, the B-Scan module builds a corrosion and thickness profile along a line, useful for tracking how wall thickness changes across a span rather than at a spot. CSpect has deployed it on tanks and pipelines, including with partner OLIMP UAV for BP Azerbaijan.
