Proven at a navy exercise.
Contracted by a defence ministry.

A capability is only as good as its track record. BeeX's HAUV has flagged a live limpet mine for a U.S. Navy exercise, been contracted by a national defence ministry to acquire and co-develop HAUVs, and logged operating hours on real subsea structures in real currents. Here is the evidence, with its sources named.

A limpet mine, found by AI

At the U.S. Navy's Advanced Naval Technology Exercise, A.IKANBILIS ran its threat-detection package against a set-up seabed — and its anomaly detection proved out on unfamiliar targets.

Two threats, on targets it had never seen

Conventional ROVs struggled in the exercise: data quality rode on pilot skill and processing was too slow for a military tempo. The HAUV's anomaly-detection software instead identified threats on two set-up targets — a submerged car concealing explosives, and a limpet mine attached to a jetty pile — flagging each for operator confirmation.

It mapped and scanned the pile field in minutes and returned geo-referenced 2D sonar and 3D point-cloud results — collapsing a workflow that had previously taken many hours into one a crew can act on in the moment.

We've identified your HAUV as a high-value opportunity, and will be recommending to several groups that they pursue further engagement with BeeX.

National Defence Customer

A multi-million-dollar defence contract

BeeX states that Singapore's Ministry of Defence — through the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) — has partnered with it on a multi-million-dollar defence contract for national security applications, to acquire and co-develop Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles.

Start-ups are often the wellspring of bold ideas. In today's rapidly evolving defence landscape, it is crucial that we tap promising technologies and help transform them into innovations for real-world applications.

A National MoD

The customer is a sovereign defence ministry acting through its science & technology agency — a credential very few underwater-robotics start-ups can point to.

Acquire & Co-Develop

The reported contract covers both acquisition and co-development — a working partnership to mature the HAUV for real naval use, not a one-off sale.

Backed From the Start

DSTA's investment arm, Cap Vista, has backed BeeX since its 2021 seed round — defence-science conviction in the technology from early on.

Per DSTA's announcement of 16 October 2025 and BeeX (“multi-million-dollar defence contract for national security applications”), reported by Asia Pacific Defence Reporter. Exact value and delivered quantities are not publicly disclosed; nothing here implies a specific fielded fleet.

A US$7.7M Series A — and offices in London & Germany

In June 2026 BeeX closed a US$7.7 million Series A led by Monk's Hill Ventures, to expand its fleet, its operational reach and its autonomy platform — with a European footprint that underpins a Europe-wide partnership.

Closed June 2026, led by Monk's Hill Ventures with SG Growth Capital (SEEDS), ShipsFocus, OCTAVE Capital and NUS Technology Holdings.

A Base on the Baltic

Beyond Singapore, BeeX operates from London and from Rostock, Germany — a European base on the Baltic coast, behind the SepcoTech Europe-wide partnership.

700+ Deployments

Proven across APAC and Europe, with 18,000+ operational hours logged and over a decade of proprietary underwater data.

Autonomy at Scale

Funds are directed at scaling the fleet and the underlying autonomy platform for underwater operations.

The convergence of increasing offshore-infrastructure asset-integrity requirements and defence modernisation is creating a generational opportunity.

The sensors and tools that make it a mine-hunter

Two concrete, verifiable integrations turn a hovering survey vehicle into an end-to-end mine counter-measures platform — one to find the mine, one to deal with it.

ELWAVE — Find the Buried Mine

BeeX and French sensor company ELWAVE signed a partnership (MoU, 2024) to integrate ELWAVE's TETRAPULSE active electric-field sensor onto A.IKANBILIS. Using bio-inspired electric-field sensing, it detects metallic and non-metallic objects — including mines and ordnance buried in the seabed, where sonar and vision struggle. A European partner directly reinforcing the MCM story.

Reach Robotics — Deal With It

A Reach Alpha subsea manipulator is integrated onto A.IKANBILIS, giving the HAUV a working arm for intervention, object recovery and probe inspection. It is the physical basis for the fleet's precise, stand-off intervention capability — putting a tool on the target while keeping a diver out of the water.
