How to choose
Pneumatic vs electric. Pneumatic (air-powered) sprayers — Merkur, President, Monark and King — run on ship's air and are simple and rugged. Electric sprayers — Classic 390, ST Max and e-Xtreme — need no compressor and eliminate pulsation and motor icing.
Small jobs vs big jobs. For spot repair and small maintenance use the Merkur, President/Monark or the light electric Classic 390 / ST Max (step up to ST Max II Pro for more production). For cargo-hold maintenance and bigger protective-coating jobs use the King (pneumatic) or the e-Xtreme (electric).
Hazardous areas. The e-Xtreme is the electric airless sprayer approved for hazardous locations (ATEX / IECEx) — the option for the explosion-classified areas of a tanker, spraying where a spark is a concern with no compressor and no icing.
