Autonomous Survey,
Without Limits.
We are proud to distribute RTsys — a French specialist in autonomous underwater vehicles and passive acoustic monitoring. Man-portable, swarm-capable AUVs for seabed survey, UXO detection and marine-renewable assessment — backed by the same acoustic engineering behind RTsys' recorders, buoys and observatories.
AUVs at the core. Acoustics in their DNA.
RTsys leads with autonomous underwater vehicles — man-portable and swarm-capable — and pairs them with the passive-acoustic recorders, buoys and observatories built on the same Brittany acoustic engineering.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicles
Man-portable AUVs for oceanographic survey, seabed mapping, UXO detection and marine-renewable assessment. The NemoSens® micro-AUV delivers 8+ hours at 4 knots on an open Linux/ROS platform; the Comet-300 fields swarms of up to ten vehicles to compress wide-area surveys from days into hours.
Explore the AUVs →
Acoustic Recorders
Standalone hydrophone recorders for PAM, marine-mammal observation and long-term seabed work — and a field-swappable AUV payload. Up to 4 inputs, 500 kHz, 180 days autonomous.
Explore Recorders →
Monitoring Buoys
Rugged surface buoys with real-time hydrophone arrays for construction monitoring and marine-mammal detection. AI species ID with satellite, 4G, UHF and Wi-Fi.
Explore Buoys →
Seabed Observatories
Cabled coastal stations combining acoustic arrays with multiparameter sensors — for continuous real-time inshore and harbour monitoring.
Explore Observatories →Two AUVs. The full survey spectrum.
From a single long-endurance micro-AUV you can program yourself, to a ten-vehicle survey swarm — RTsys autonomy goes in from a small boat and comes back with the data.
Endurance and open autonomy
The NemoSens® micro-AUV outlasts most of its class — over eight hours at four knots — yet stays small enough for one person to deploy from a small vessel or the shore. Crucially, it runs a fully open Linux OS with ROS and MOOS-IVP, so you develop and deploy your own mission algorithms instead of waiting on a vendor.
- 8+ hour endurance · man-portable, single-operator deployment
- Open Linux · ROS · MOOS-IVP — no autonomy vendor lock-in
- Modular bay swaps CTD, side-scan sonar & acoustic payloads in the field
Wide-area survey, compressed into a shift
When one vehicle's endurance falls short, the Comet-300 fields up to ten units at once, coordinated by a sparse Long Baseline (LBL) system feeding real-time position from the surface. UXO pre-survey grids, cable-route assessments and MRE site surveys that would take days with a single vehicle finish in hours with a coordinated fleet.
- Up to 10 vehicles in one coordinated survey swarm
- Sparse-LBL localisation — real-time navigation from the surface
- Side-scan sonar, UXO and oceanographic payload options
French autonomy & acoustics, deployable anywhere
RTsys instruments are purpose-built for challenging real-world deployments — from offshore pile-driving to long-term seabed ecology monitoring in remote locations.
Open, Programmable Autonomy
NemoSens® AUVs run open Linux with ROS and MOOS-IVP — develop and deploy your own mission algorithms and integrate custom sensors, with no vendor lock-in.
Swarm Survey
The Comet-300 coordinates up to ten vehicles via sparse-LBL localisation — turning multi-day wide-area survey grids into single-shift operations.
Broadband Acoustics
From 3 Hz ambient noise to 500 kHz ultrasonic — RTsys acoustic payloads and recorders cover mammals, shipping and construction impact in one pass.
One Integrated Ecosystem
AUVs, recorders, buoys and observatories share RTsys engineering — PAMGuard-compatible and unified through RT-Live Monitor for seamless data workflows.
Precision acoustics across every sector
RTsys technology is deployed in marine renewable energy, offshore construction, environmental compliance, oceanographic research, fisheries and port operations worldwide.
Marine Renewable Energy
Acoustic baselines, impact monitoring during offshore-wind and tidal installation, and operational-noise characterisation for compliance.
Offshore Construction
Real-time noise monitoring during pile-driving, dredging, seismic survey and harbour works — SEL/SPL meeting EU Habitats Directive requirements.
Marine Mammal Protection
Automated cetacean detection for PAM/MMO/PSO — detecting dolphins, porpoises and whales up to 20 km to trigger shutdowns or alerts.
Oceanographic Research
Long-term ambient-noise baselines, soundscape ecology, fish-acoustic characterisation, benthic habitat assessment and AUV CTD profiling.
Ship Noise Monitoring
Underwater radiated noise (URN) measurement for vessel certification, port-authority compliance and shipping-lane impact assessment.
UXO Detection
Side-scan-equipped AUVs for unexploded-ordnance survey ahead of cable, pipeline and wind-farm installation — replacing crewed survey vessels.
Fisheries & Ecology
Bioacoustic characterisation of fish species, crustacean sound analysis, Posidonia habitat assessment and MPA soundscape monitoring.
Port & Harbour Works
Continuous inshore acoustic and multiparameter monitoring through harbour construction, dredging and maintenance — with remote data access.
Used by leading ocean-science institutions
Research institutes, hydrographic services and marine contractors run RTsys acoustic and autonomous systems on programmes around the world.
