FIFISH X1 — Industrial NDT & Heavy-Payload Inspection ROV
QYSEA's most capable ROV — six-motor vector control with ±0.1° precision, 4.5-knot speed, 4.0-knot current holding, a 15 kg payload and direct power for round-the-clock offshore inspection and non-destructive testing. Built for the work nothing else handles.
Inspect · Measure · Test · Clean
One platform for offshore inspection and NDT
The FIFISH X1 occupies a category of its own — a true mission ROV engineered specifically for offshore inspection, non-destructive testing and heavy-payload operations in the most demanding subsea environments. Its six-motor vector layout delivers 4.5-knot speed and holds station in 4.0-knot currents — conditions that push most lightweight ROVs to their limits or beyond.
Despite its capability the X1 weighs under 30 kg and is deployable by one or two operators without lifting equipment. Direct power supply removes battery limitations for continuous 24/7 operation, and the modular 1+N payload system swaps a complete tool set in about five minutes — from NDT probe to water jet cleaner to robotic arm.
- Six-motor vector layout · ±0.1° positioning precision · 4.5-knot top speed

The problems the X1 was built to solve
Offshore inspection and NDT carry hard operational limits. The X1 was designed specifically to remove them.
🌊 Strong Currents
Most lightweight ROVs lose station in tidal flow. The X1's six-motor vector thrust and dual Q-DVL hold position in currents up to 4 knots.
🔋 Battery Limits
Battery ROVs need retrieval every 1–2 hours. Direct power supply removes that constraint for continuous 24/7 fixed-site operation.
🏋️ Tool Weight
UTG probes, CP heads and cleaners are heavy. A 15 kg payload carries NDT tooling that lighter ROVs cannot physically support.
📐 Measurable Data
Visual-only inspection isn't deliverable. QY-MT AI measurement plus NDT tooling produces quantitative, documented results.
Six-Motor Vector Control
Six individually controlled Q-Motor Pro thrusters in a three-dimensional vector layout deliver precise omnidirectional force — purpose-engineered for offshore inspection, not adapted from a consumer design.
Maximum control authority in tough water
In a conventional ROV, thrusters are aligned in rows and each group handles a single axis. The X1's six thrusters sit in a vector configuration so that any combination of forward, lateral, vertical and rotational force is generated simultaneously and efficiently — no wasted thrust, no mechanical coupling between axes. The industrial-grade Q-Motor Pro variant is uprated for sustained current-holding loads without thermal limiting over extended sessions.
- Full 6 DOF — translate in any direction and rotate on any axis at once
- Sub-degree precision to place NDT contact tools repeatably against a surface
- Forward + downward Q-DVL gives 3D station lock against forward and cross-flow
Direct Power Supply — 24/7 Continuous Operation
Battery-limited ROVs require surface retrieval every 1–2 hours. The X1's direct power supply eliminates that constraint — enabling the round-the-clock deployment offshore operations demand.
No battery to deplete, no retrieval to recharge
The X1's direct power supply routes regulated power from a topside unit through a dedicated conductor in the tether — providing continuous power regardless of mission duration. There is no onboard battery to deplete, no scheduled retrieval for charging and no performance drop as a battery nears end-of-charge. A mission log records timestamps, position and sensor data, and the operator can attach voice memos to specific footage timestamps in real time to simplify post-dive reporting.
- Fixed-site monitoring for extended periods — days, not hours
- Night-shift inspection without battery-changeover delays
- Consistent performance — no end-of-charge power reduction
- Reduces vessel time by removing retrieval / recharge cycles
- Mission log with voice-memo annotation · real-time data sync
NDT-Ready Payload System
The X1 is the first FIFISH ROV designed specifically for underwater NDT — compatible with inspection tools that deliver quantitative structural data without physical damage to the asset.

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge (UTG)
Measure remaining wall thickness on pipes, hulls and offshore structures from the outside — detecting corrosion-induced metal loss without cutting, grinding or coating removal.

Cathodic Protection (CP) Tool
Take CP potential measurements to assess corrosion-control effectiveness on platforms, pipelines and subsea structures — systematic potential mapping without a diver.

Multi-Parameter Sensor
Concurrently measure temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and pH during inspection passes — building a corrosion-environment profile for asset-integrity planning.

Water Jet Cleaner
Remove marine fouling, sediment and soft deposits from inspection surfaces before measurement — improving thickness-reading and defect-detection accuracy without a separate cleaning dive.
QY-MT AI Measurement Integration
QY-MT provides millimetre-level visual measurement alongside NDT tool data — delivering both visual defect documentation and quantitative thickness / potential measurements from a single inspection pass. Combine them into complete asset-integrity data packages.
- →Millimetre-level AI visual measurement with proprietary vision algorithms
- →Visual defect documentation paired with NDT tool readings
- →Online (live) and offline (post-dive) data evaluation
- →Single-pass capture of both visual and quantitative data
Modular 1+N Tool Design
One X1 body, any combination of tools. The 1+N modular payload system lets the same ROV run a visual inspection, an NDT survey and a clean-and-re-inspect pass across one day in the field.
Swap the whole tool set in about five minutes
The standardised tool interface and quick-release mechanism enable complete payload changes — visual camera to UTG to robotic arm — in approximately five minutes, with no specialist tools and no compromise to the depth rating. All payloads communicate through a unified accessory portal and appear as a single interface in the FIFISH control app.
5-Minute Payload Swap
Complete payload changes in about five minutes — no specialist tools, no O-ring changes, no depth-rating compromise.
Unified Accessory Portal
All payloads communicate through one accessory portal — switch active tools, view sensor data and control actuators from a single screen.
Online / Offline Evaluation
Evaluate sensor data live during the dive, or review offline after recovery — fast preliminary assessment and thorough engineering review from one data set.
Where the X1 Operates
The X1 is the FIFISH platform for offshore operators who need more speed, payload, current resistance and continuous operating time than any other model provides.
Offshore Oil & Gas
Jacket inspections, pipeline surveys, riser condition assessments and CP monitoring. UTG and CP tools deliver asset-integrity data without a work-class ROV or diver team; direct power removes battery retrieval cycles in 24-hour windows.
Offshore Wind Energy
Monopile and jacket foundation surveys, scour monitoring, inter-array cable inspection and transition-piece checks. Strong current holding suits the tidal flows around wind-farm sites; 15 kg payload carries CP and cleaning tools.
Large Vessel Hull Inspection
Full hull condition surveys of tankers, bulk carriers and container ships at anchor or alongside. Speed and current holding enable efficient full-hull coverage; QY-MT documents measurement without a diver in the water.
Subsea Foundations & Pipelines
External condition assessments — visual, UTG thickness and CP potential surveys along full pipeline routes. U-INS Plus track-following enables before-and-after comparison across maintenance campaigns.
Non-Destructive Testing
Portable NDT in the water column — ultrasonic thickness, cathodic protection, multi-parameter sensing and AI visual measurement in one system. Suited to FPSO turret inspections and structure-integrity campaigns.
Emergency Response
Fast deployment by 1–2 operators, 4.5-knot speed, 350 m reach and 24/7 endurance suit offshore emergency response — pipeline damage assessment, incident surveys and urgent structural checks.
