Portapipe®: A Versatile All‑in‑One Solution
Portapipe® features an integrated digital library containing a wide range of commonly used industrial liquids—such as fuels, fire suppression agents, and water—as well as typical pipe materials including copper, PVC, and carbon steel. This built‑in database enables fast configuration and straightforward measurements straight out of the case. Operators can also add new fluids or pipe materials by entering the relevant speed‑of‑sound data, allowing the instrument to be fully tailored to specific operational requirements.
Designed as a compact, handheld device, Portapipe® can be easily deployed across multiple pipe runs within a facility. Its fast and intuitive measurement process makes it suitable for routine monitoring, output verification, and leak identification whenever required. Supplied with two interchangeable sensor options, the system can be configured to suit a range of pipe diameters, while its IP65 environmental rating ensures reliable performance even in demanding industrial environments.
Overview
Dual‑Mode Liquid Level Measurement
The Portapipe® offers two operating methods, allowing it to adapt easily to different pipe orientations and measurement needs:
Horizontal Pipe Applications
When used on horizontal pipes, Portapipe® applies a time‑of‑flight measurement principle to calculate and display the liquid level as a percentage of the pipe’s total capacity.Vertical Pipe Applications
For vertical pipework, the device uses a presence‑detection approach. The sensor is moved incrementally along the pipe to identify the point at which liquid is detected, establishing the liquid level.
Switching between these two measurement modes is simple and can be done instantly via a single control, enabling fast deployment throughout a pipe network regardless of orientation. This flexibility makes Portapipe® suitable for a wide range of tasks, including assessing pipe fill levels, monitoring potential overflows, identifying blockages, and evaluating pipe capacity.
