The tool is intended for cylinders containing liquefied agents, where liquid and gas phases are distinct. Certain agents, such as CO₂ and FE-13, can reach their “critical point” at standard atmospheric temperatures under pressure. At this point, the substance becomes a supercritical fluid, eliminating any clear liquid level, making level-based monitoring impossible.

To maintain accuracy, the calculator prevents data recording for substances likely to be in this state. For example, CO₂ reaches its critical point at 31°C; if a user enters a temperature above this threshold, the system will display an error and block saving the measurement.

Monitoring the contents of fire suppression cylinders using ultrasonic liquid level detection is far more practical than removing and weighing each cylinder individually. This method is faster, simpler, and safer because it avoids system downtime. However, manufacturers typically provide only the fill weight of a cylinder, not its liquid level. Additionally, liquid level varies with temperature due to changes in density, and these variations differ across agents and cylinder sizes, making accurate predictions complex.

This calculator addresses these challenges by using cylinder dimensions provided by the user and liquid level measurements from an ultrasonic level indicator to calculate the agent weight with high precision. It automatically compensates for temperature effects, delivering results accurate to within 1% of the true value. This enables direct comparison between measured levels and the documented fill weight, ensuring exceptional traceability.
