SonarView
One App. Every Device.
SonarView is Cerulean Sonar's free, cross-platform visualization and control application. It brings together all your Cerulean hardware — imaging sonars, positioning systems, and bathymetry sensors — into a single intuitive interface, on any operating system.
What You See on Screen
3D bathymetric point cloud — Surveyor 240-16 MBES in SonarView
Live side-scan mosaic — Omniscan 450 SS at Friday Harbor
Runs Everywhere You Work
SonarView is built on web technologies for maximum portability — available as native desktop apps and as a browser-based interface via BlueOS on Raspberry Pi.
Windows
Native x86 application. 106 MB installer.
macOS
Intel (x86_64) and Apple Silicon (M1–M4) native builds.
Linux
x86_64 and ARM64 builds for desktop and embedded systems.
Browser (BlueOS)
SonarLink on Raspberry Pi enables full browser-based operation with no desktop install required.
Works With Your Entire Sensor Suite
SonarView supports every current Cerulean Sonar product — and even third-party Blue Robotics sonar devices — from a single unified interface.
Omniscan 450 Family
Full support for FS (forward-looking), SS (side-scan), Compact, and 3D variants. Real-time sonar image display, mosaic building, and recording.
Surveyor 240-16 MBES
Live multibeam capture, real-time bathymetric preview, mission replay, and export to CSV, GSF, and SVLOG for hydrographic processing.
Sounder S500
Single-beam echosounder display and logging. Live depth readout with configurable range and gain settings for optimum signal quality.
Tracker 650 DVL
DVL velocity data fusion for smooth position tracking. Seamlessly fills the gap between USBL position updates for continuous ROV position display.
Ping360 (Blue Robotics)
Third-party support for the popular Blue Robotics scanning sonar. Use SonarView as your single interface for mixed sensor configurations.
Ping (Blue Robotics)
Full support for the Blue Robotics Ping single-beam altimeter and echosounder alongside Cerulean Sonar hardware.
Built for Operators, Not Just Engineers
SonarView is designed around the real-world needs of ROV pilots, survey operators, and researchers — delivering professional capability without unnecessary complexity.
Real-Time Visualization
Live sonar image rendering with configurable gain, range, and colour palette — updated at up to 20 Hz for smooth, responsive situational awareness.
Sonar Mosaic
Combine DVL motion data with Omniscan FS imagery to build a real-time geo-referenced acoustic mosaic of the seafloor — comparable to multibeam output.
Recording & Replay
Record all sensor data to disk and replay missions in full at any speed. Essential for post-mission analysis, reporting, and training.
Export Formats
Export bathymetric data to CSV, GSF (Generic Sensor Format), and SVLOG for direct import into industry-standard hydrographic processing software.
SonarLink Architecture
The companion SonarLink module handles hardware interfaces unavailable in browsers — enabling full functionality in the BlueOS browser-based deployment mode.
OEM Versions
Custom-branded OEM versions of SonarView are available for system integrators and platform manufacturers on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to discuss.
Position Fusion
Fuses USBL and DVL position data into a continuous, smooth ROV track — displayed in real time on the SonarView map panel alongside sonar imagery.
Full Documentation
Comprehensive user manuals, integration guides, and how-to articles available at docs.ceruleansonar.com — covering every product and workflow.
How SonarView Works
Desktop Applications
SonarView is packaged as a native desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Built on web technologies internally, the native wrapper provides direct hardware access — USB, serial, and Ethernet — for lowest-latency sensor communication.
BlueOS Browser Mode
When running on BlueOS (Raspberry Pi), the SonarLink companion service handles hardware interface functions that are unavailable in standard browser environments. This enables full SonarView functionality directly in your browser — no desktop install required.
OEM Integration
Custom OEM versions are available for platform manufacturers who wish to integrate SonarView's visualization capabilities directly into their own control systems or branded interfaces. Contact us to discuss your integration requirements.
