Omnitrack USBL subsea positioning system Flagship System

Complete Topside USBL Positioning System

from €8,500
Mk III (acoustic-sync) & Mk V (Ethernet-sync) · Two variants available

The Omnitrack USBL is Cerulean Sonar's flagship subsea positioning solution, providing 3-dimensional tracking of your ROV or subsea asset from a topside deployment assembly. It uses an Ultra-Short Baseline receive array paired with a pinging transponder on the ROV to detect range and direction with high precision.

The integral GNSS compass eliminates magnetic interference issues — a common limitation of systems relying on magnetic compasses — making Omnitrack equally effective near steel vessels, ports, and metallic structures.

Choose Your Variant

Mk III — Acoustic Sync

Traditional acoustic communication. No clock sync required. Works with any vehicle — electrical power only to transponder.

Mk V — Ethernet Sync

Network-based clock synchronization for enhanced timing accuracy. Leverages existing Ethernet infrastructure on the ROV tether.

  • Integral GNSS compass — immune to magnetic interference
  • Full topside deployment assembly included
  • Simple deployment from boat, pier, or shore
  • Latest Ethernet Mk III USBL components
  • Available in tethered or Wi-Fi topside variants
  • Integrates with SonarView for full position visualization

Accessible Acoustic Positioning for Every Operator

from €3,300
Mk II and Mk III versions available

The ROV Locator (ROVL) family delivers reliable underwater position tracking at an entry-level price point — making it ideal for recreational divers, research teams, and commercial operators who need to know where their ROV is without the cost of a full USBL system.

Two variants are available with different synchronization approaches. The Mk III offers improved ease-of-use; the Mk II trades slightly more complexity for a lower price point. Neither requires a GNSS compass, keeping the system lightweight and deployable in minutes.

  • Cost-effective alternative to full USBL systems
  • Mk II: proven reliability at the lowest price point
  • Mk III: enhanced ease-of-use and improved accuracy
  • No magnetic compass calibration required
  • Compatible with SonarView positioning visualization
  • Pair with Tracker 650 DVL for continuous tracking
Tip: Combine the ROVL with a Tracker 650 DVL for continuous position updates between USBL pings — SonarView fuses both data streams seamlessly.

Tracker 650 DVL Doppler Velocity Log DVL

Doppler Velocity Log for Stabilization & Tracking

from €2,800
300 m rated · MAVLink & ArduSub compatible

The Tracker 650 is a 675 kHz Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) that provides high-update-rate velocity information for ROV stabilization, position hold, and integrated position tracking. Operating at 5–20 Hz, it fills the gap between USBL position updates — delivering smooth, continuous tracking when fused with SonarView.

Three Key Capabilities

🔒
Position HoldEliminates drift from tether pull and current. The ROV stays exactly where you place it without continuous input.
📍
Position TrackingSends MAVLink2rest position delta messages for map-based display in QGroundControl when paired with ArduSub.
