Affordable Multibeam Echosounder for Small USVs

from €4,700

The Surveyor 240-16 is a compact 16-channel multibeam echosounder that enables full bathymetric surveys at speeds more than ten times faster than single-beam alternatives. Its small form factor and light weight (790 g in air, only 145 g in water) make it ideal for deployment on small Uncrewed Surface Vessels like the BlueBoat.

Operating at 240 kHz with an 80° cross-track swath and <1° angular resolution, the Surveyor 240-16 delivers genuinely useful hydrographic data — with an integrated IMU for pitch and roll compensation ensuring geographic accuracy across the full swath.

  • 16 receive channels — real bathymetric multibeam data
  • 80° cross-track swath for rapid area coverage
  • Integrated IMU for pitch & roll compensation
  • Exports to CSV, GSF (Generic Sensor Format), and SVLOG
  • Compatible with standard hydrographic processing software
  • SonarView: live capture, real-time preview, mission replay
  • 100 BaseT Ethernet; 10–30 V DC; 5 W idle / 15 W max

Compact Single-Beam for ROVs, AUVs & ASVs

from €850
300 m depth rated · CHIRP technology

The Sounder S500 is a precision single-beam echosounder engineered specifically for small Remotely Operated Vehicles, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, and Autonomous Surface Vehicles where size, weight, and power budget are critical constraints.

With an unbundled transducer and electronics design, the S500 minimizes external mechanical profile — keeping drag low and integration clean. CHIRP technology delivers excellent range resolution and focused acoustic energy delivery, making it reliable even at close range to structure.

  • Compact transducer: 54 mm diameter × 22 mm length
  • CHIRP technology for excellent range resolution
  • 100 m range capability with ~5° narrow beam width
  • Unbundled design minimizes vehicle drag
  • 300 m depth rated for deep ROV applications
  • Compatible with SonarView for live display and logging

Genuine Hydrographic Data

The Surveyor 240-16 produces survey-grade bathymetry you can render, measure, and export to industry-standard processing tools — straight out of SonarView.

Colour-coded depth, geo-referenced over your chart

Sixteen receive channels and an integrated IMU turn each ping into a wide, attitude-corrected swath. SonarView paints the result as a live 3D point cloud over a map overlay, so you can watch coverage build in real time and spot gaps before you leave the site — then export to CSV, GSF or SVLOG for your hydrographic package.

Real-World Survey

A Boeing 737 on the seabed — mapped by a small USV

In British Columbia, a retired Boeing 737 was deliberately sunk in roughly 25 m of water to create an artificial reef. The entire wreck was surveyed with a BlueBoat USV carrying a Surveyor 240-16 — the kind of job that once demanded a crewed launch and a far more expensive multibeam, now completed by a one-person team from the shore.

  • Full-coverage bathymetry of a large structure in a single survey
  • Deployed and recovered by hand — no crane, no crewed vessel
  • Repeatable: re-run the same lines to track change over time

Where Will You Survey?

🏙️

Port & Harbour Surveys

Rapid multibeam surveys of port basins, berths, and fairways for dredging assessment, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance.

🌊

Coastal & Shallow Water Mapping

Deploy the Surveyor 240-16 on a BlueBoat USV for safe, efficient shallow-water surveys in areas inaccessible to crewed vessels.
