COMET-300: Redefining Autonomous Underwater Missions

In underwater operations, precision, endurance, and ease of deployment are non-negotiable. That’s why we developed the COMET-300—a man-portable autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) engineered for high-performance missions across commercial, scientific, and defense sectors.

Whether you're conducting seabed imaging, water quality monitoring, mine countermeasure operations, or environmental surveys, COMET-300 delivers unmatched capabilities with real-time tracking, 20-hour endurance, and 300-meter depth capability.

Built for Real Missions, Real Conditions

COMET-300 is designed for rapid deployment and recovery. Weighing under 40 kg, it can be launched from a light RHIB or any vessel without special installation. Its compact design and rugged build make it ideal for operations in challenging environments, including poor weather and high sea states.

With up to 20 hours of battery endurance, COMET-300 can cover large areas in a single mission or perform multiple shorter detection runs with minimal turnaround time.

Precision Navigation with Real-Time Tracking

At the heart of COMET-300’s navigation system is our proprietary RACAM sparse-LBL protocol, integrated with GPS, INS, and DVL sensors. This combination delivers market-leading positioning accuracy, independent of the distance covered.

Operators can monitor the AUV’s position and navigation data in real time from the surface using a tablet or computer. The GEOsys UHF remote controller facilitates localization and recovery and allows for emergency commands like mission abort.

For extended communication range, a relay beacon can push the acoustic link up to 5 km, ensuring uninterrupted control and data flow even in expansive mission zones.

Versatile Sensor Payloads for Every Mission

COMET-300 adapts to your mission’s scope with a wide range of payloads, including:

  • High-resolution side scan sonar (with optional swath bathymetry)

  • Environmental sensors: CTD, O₂, chlorophyll

  • Magnetometer

  • Video camera and subsea lighting

All sensor data is stored on a unified medium and can be retrieved easily via Wi-Fi or Ethernet at the end of the mission.

Rapid Deployment, Seamless Recovery

Recovery is streamlined with adapted pike poles, making it easy to retrieve the AUV even in rough conditions or emergency scenarios. The system is designed for quick redeployment, allowing operators to sequence missions efficiently without extensive setup.
