SEAMOR Steelhead — Portable 300 m Inspection-Class ROV
SEAMOR's portable inspection-class ROV — light enough for one-person deployment from a dock or small boat, with a broadcast-quality colour zoom camera, 3,000-lumen lighting and auto depth & heading hold for steady work in confined water.
The ROV one person can carry to the water
The Steelhead is built for fast, repeatable inspection work. At roughly 21 kg it launches directly from its tether — one operator can move it from the van to the waterline and be diving within minutes. Onboard auto depth and heading hold keep it steady in confined spaces so the pilot can concentrate on the inspection, not on fighting drift.
- ~21 kg frame — true one-person, tether-launch deployment
- 300 m (1,000 ft) depth rating
- Four variable-speed thrusters with auto depth & heading hold
- Broadcast-quality colour zoom camera with full sensor overlay
- 3,000 lumens of dimmable LED light, integrated 15" LCD console
- Leak detection and temperature monitoring as standard
The friction the Steelhead removes
Routine underwater inspection is slowed by the same recurring obstacles. The Steelhead is designed to make each one disappear.
🏗️ Mobilisation Cost
Cranes, hoists and big vessels are expensive to mobilise for a quick look. One person and a tether-launch ROV replace all of it.
🤿 Confined Access
Tanks, pens, intakes and pilings are tight and hard to reach. A compact 21 kg frame goes where divers and larger ROVs can't.
👷 Diver Risk
Cold, current and zero-visibility water put divers at risk for routine checks. The Steelhead keeps people topside.
📋 Documentation
Inspections need defensible records. On-screen depth/heading overlay and onboard DVR produce report-ready footage automatically.
Intuitive Flight. Automatic Station-Keeping.
Four variable-speed thrusters deliver smooth, responsive handling, while onboard auto depth and heading hold free the pilot to focus entirely on the inspection.
Steady framing, hands-free station-keeping
Four thrusters with individual variable-speed control give precise positioning in confined spaces and restricted flow. Pressure sensors lock a set depth and the onboard compass holds heading — so the Steelhead delivers consistent, repeatable framing for video documentation without the pilot fighting vertical drift or current.
- Auto depth hold locks the vehicle at a set depth
- Auto heading hold keeps a stable bearing in current
- Tether-launch deployment — no hoist or crane required
4 Variable-Speed Thrusters
Responsive directional movement and precise positioning in confined and current-prone water.
Auto Depth Hold
Pressure sensors lock the ROV at a set depth so the pilot steers without fighting drift.
Auto Heading Hold
Onboard compass maintains a stable heading for consistent framing and documentation.
Tether-Launch Deploy
The compact 21 kg frame launches straight from the tether — ideal for docks and small vessels.
Broadcast-Quality Colour Video. 3,000 Lumens.
Clear, detailed underwater imagery with a 3× optical zoom colour camera, onboard DVR and a 3,000-lumen dimmable LED system — everything needed for professional inspection documentation.
See the detail, record the evidence
The broadcast-quality colour camera resolves cracks, corrosion and marine growth without repositioning the vehicle, and the onboard digital video recorder captures every pass with depth, heading, pitch/roll and timestamp burned into the frame — defensible documentation straight off the dive.
- 3× optical / 32× total zoom, manual or automatic focus
- Two 1,500-lumen dimmable LEDs (3,000 lm total), stepless control
- Onboard DVR with live depth/heading/timestamp overlay
- Integrated 15" LCD console included as standard
3× Optical / 32× Zoom
Broadcast-quality colour camera resolves close-up detail without moving the ROV — ideal for crack detection and corrosion assessment.
Manual & Auto Focus
Switch focus modes on the fly. Overlay records depth, heading, pitch/roll and timestamp for full inspection record-keeping.
Dual 1,500-Lumen LEDs
Two independent dimmable LEDs (3,000 lm total) with stepless brightness, plus integrated controller and 15" monitor.
Digital Video Recorder
Records continuously with overlay — ready-to-use documentation with no post-processing required.
Optional Parallel Lasers
Green laser scale on a 150 mm baseline for accurate size measurement directly from the video.
Leak & Temperature Sensing
Built-in leak detection with audible alarm and temperature monitoring protect the vehicle and enable safe recovery.
